Terms and Conditions

We will agree on a price before editing begins. Should you wish to add any further material to the work, such as a prologue, new chapters, or additional scenes, a separate price will be negotiated based on the original fee.

I ask for a non-refundable deposit (30% of total fee) to book an editing slot. The remainder is due within 10 days of receipt of the edited document. For script services, the deposit is 50% of the total fee and the remainder is due within 3 days of receipt of the reviewed and/or edited script.

Payment can be made via the following methods: Venmo (@beckybain), Paypal (contact@beckybain.com), or check, payable to Becky Bain.  

A deadline date will be agreed upon mutually between us. Occasionally, the date may have to shift if the work takes longer than expected or due to unforeseen circumstances. Should this be the case, I will let you know as soon as possible.

While every attempt will be taken to provide an error-free document, please note that perfection is not guaranteed. I suggest that you employ the services of a proofreader or make sure you read through the manuscript thoroughly yourself to check for any small errors remaining.

I may use your name and promote your work on my website and social platforms. Please let me know of any exciting updates with your document: publishing date, awards, becoming a finalist in a screenplay contest, etc.

If you are pleased with my work, please consider writing a testimonial that I can promote on my website and social platforms.

While I will point out any legal issues, you are responsible for ensuring that your manuscript is appropriate for publication. I can accept no liability for any legal action arising from inaccurate or defamatory information in a piece of writing.

I will not check every detail for accuracy, particularly in historical documents. While I will check and query any that catch my attention, please ensure that you have done your own research and checked facts before sending your project to be edited.

Your work will be kept completely confidential. I will keep your files for up to one year after the edit is concluded in case of failure with your own system. If you do not want your files to be kept, please let me know.
